Six Philadelphia police officers have been indicted for leading a racketeering conspiracy that involved intense torture tactics and robbery of suspected drug dealers.

According to the Philly Inquirer, Officers Thomas Liciardello, Brian Reynolds, Michael Spicer, Perry Betts, Linwood Norman, and John Speiser were listed as the men involved in a six-year corruption case. The men are responsible for stealing over $500,000 from drug dealers from 2006 to 2012.

To cover their tracks the men planted the crimes on other dealers, created fake police reports, and wrongfully arrested a number of people.

Other claims include holding a man from the 18th floor of a building for information on drugs and cash, and beating another man with a steel pipe.

Officer Brian Reynolds' lawyer, Jack McMahon, claims that the accusations against his client are false.

"My client is a good, decent family man, presumed innocent by law," he said. "These are merely accusations by a bunch of police-hating drug dealers."
