Melyssa Ford recently sat down with Charlamagne tha God and Andrew Schultz's The Brilliant Idiot's podcast, where she shared a story about being hit by a man after throwing a Walkman in his face. She added that the man wasn't a known abuser, and says, "he was a human being that was backed into a corner."

"While I was shaking my hand in his face, I smashed him in the face with the CD Walkman. He didn't even blink and punched me right in my face. Lip exploded. It was like *gasp*. Then I wilded out some more and he was like, 'Oh my God! I gotta get her out of here,' because we're in the car in the street."

This comes after ESPN host Stephen A. Smith stirred up controversy with his thoughts on domestic abuse while discussing Ray Rice's two game suspension. Smith implied that women should learn ways to not provoke their attacker. He later apologized and cleared up his statement, but the conversation has clearly incited talk about the subject.
