Lord Jamar shares his thoughts on the death of Eric Garner, a Staten Island resident who died after being put in a chokehold by an NYPD officer. The Brand Nubian rapper says he's familiar with that part of the borough and remarks that "there ain't nothing serious going on around there." Jamar believes the situation escalated in the way it did because police were intimidated by the man's stature.

The NY rapper then lists off other New York residents who have died at the hands of the NYPD, commenting that "the fear of the black man, and his strength, almost leads to things like this." Jamar references Grant's size and says the police wouldn't have run up on a "soft dude."

When asked about what he believes will happen to the officers, Lord Jamar says he thinks they'll get a slap on the wrist and lose their jobs at the very most. The New York rapper isn't confident that any of the officers will serve jail time for the incident, and he proposes that black people start policing their own neighborhoods.
