Brooklyn spitter Papoose shared his views on the state of New York Hip-Hop and what he believes is the root of the problem when it comes to bringing it back to the forefront of the culture.
Firstly, Pap believes all of Hip-Hop is a "New York sound" because Hip-Hop started in NYC, and no matter how much different regions have changed or modified the sound, its roots will always be in NYC. That being said, Papoose disagrees with Kool Keith that the main problem is that NYC ran away from its sound. Pap believes that those in a position of power pick and choose who and what they want to perpetuate, and what they give the people of New York simply isn't what they want.
