A gigantic crater recently opened up in the far-northern Yamal peninsula in Siberia, causing a lot of speculation over what caused the gaping chasm to appear out of nowhere. An aerial shot of the approximately 260-foot-wide hole appeared online, baffling viewers who tried to find an explanation for the phenomenon.
The area is reportedly rich in gas, and it's not unusual for underground explosions to happen. However, some conspiracy theorists believe that it could be a UFO landing site, or was caused by a meteorite.
