Street justice was carried out after Ismael Hernandez, 21, jumped in a car at a San Diego shopping center car park and attempted to drive off with a woman and her child still in the vehicle. The would-be thief didn't make it far before he was stopped by good Samaritans, who dragged him out of the van and made a citizens arrest.
Hernandez put up quite the fight while at least three men tried to apprehend him from running away. Once police made their way on the scene, they arrested Hernandez while EMS checked on the health of the victim, who seemed quite shaken up over the ordeal.
The 21-year-old was taken to a San Diego jail, where he was charged with attempted carjacking, attempted kidnapping, and attempted auto theft.
