When the Forbes List was recently released, successful independent artist Tech N9ne was happy that he made the list and in a better position than he was the previous year; however, he wasn't thrilled that his finances were now put on display for the world to see.
Tech N9ne told Radio.com that he wanted to keep his financial status a secret. "When you make that much money, I guess they report it. Forbes wants to say, 'Look what this guy did. $7.5 million this year,' and I was like 'Don't say that'."
Tech also added that he is proud of the fact that he is able to make the Forbes List as an independent artist with his own money, without major radio play or his videos being in regular rotation on video music channels.
