Former Scandal star Columbus Short has dabbled with comedy in the past by starring in 2010's Death at a Funeral, but today the actor is going further into the career by trying standup comedy.

TMZ caught up with the actor while leaving Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank, California. Short was fired from the hit show 'Scandal' after domestic abuse allegations came to light involving his wife. When asked how creator Shonda Rhimes fired him, the actor responded with a few jokes.

"They sent me a Snapchat with a quick message," he said. "It was really fast and it came quick. I almost missed the message, it went away so fast."
