Still hot after the release of his Billboard charting debut album "Testimony", Thug&B crooner August Alsina got a chance to sit down with VladTV to talk about the struggles of growing up in New Orleans and how it keeps him humble and hungry today.

"I'm taking penitentiary chances just like everyone else." Alsina says, speaking about conversations with friends back home. "I realized my heart [is] too big to slang dope. I come from that, I come from my family being struck by drug addiction and all that. So me actually watching somebody smoke some crack that I sold them...it'll f*ck you up."

Like always, August was very candid and honest in the interview, and those that love him are no doubt proud to see he made it out, especially in memory of his late brother.
