In an interview with the Breakfast Club, DJ Drama talked about his position as A&R at Atlantic, Young Thug and the current sound of southern hip hop.

Drama confirmed that Young Thug is managed by Birdman but isn't under the YMCMB label. He also revealed that the "Stoner" rapper is still signed to the Atlantic imprint, 300. The rapper was previously signed to Gucci Mane's 1017 label.

He also talked about the new sound in Atlanta with acts like Young Thug, Migos and Future taking over the airwaves.

I wouldn't put a definition or title on it," he said. "When these artist break, I don't think they see the vision of of how worldwide their sound is going to be. They just do it."

The crew also talked about a past beef with Drama and DJ Envy. In the argument, Envy broke down a fall out with Drama after a canceled mixtape project. Drama explained that it was simply a matter of miscommunication and his relationship with Hot 97.
