Akon has started a new charity called "Light Up Africa," where he pledges to provide electricity for one million homes in the impoverished country. Speaking to Complex, the famed entertainer said that it sounds like a big goal, but not when you put the size of Africa into perspective.
He did a nine country tour in February, where Akon met with heads of state and energy ministers, and were able to get 200,000 homes electrified. He hopes to reach his goal by the end of 2014.
