In this interview with HipHopSince1987.com, Marsha Ambrosius recounts the thrill of collaborating with one of her music idols, former lead vocalist of The Gap Band, Charlie Wilson.

"He's just a living legend that should be praised right now," says Marsha. "It was one of my lifelong goals to work with him."

The English songstress goes on to break down her "Friends & Lovers" album and tour before weighing in on the Philadelphia R&B scene.

"I'm just about people who can really sing," says Ambrosius, who reminisces about the days when you could see Jill Scott and the Roots performing in their hometown on the regular.
