Many people may be unaware of the fact that Tyrese Gibson auditioned for the lead role in Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained," prior to Jamie Foxx being cast for the part. Tyrese filmed himself in various scenarios all relating to the hard slave life that Django had to endure, and sent over his audition reel to gain Tarantino 's approval. Obviously he wasn't cast for the part, but the audition footage has been released showing Tyrese displaying his acting chops in full.
