On Sunday's game, January 5th, between the New York Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks, JR Smith untied Shawn Marion's shoelaces during the second quarter of the game.  He bent down while standing next to Marion as Dirk Nowitzki shot free-throws on the foul line, and quickly untied his sneaker.  Marion later noticed his shoe was untied and corrected his laces.  The Knicks went on to win the game 92-80.

JR was warned by the league not to pull any stunts of this nature in the future, or more specifically "refrain from further conduct of this nature."  However, JR didn't oblige the league and attempted to untie Greg Monroe's sholaces during a free-throw attempt in the Detroit Pistons vs New York Knicks game on Tuesday, January 7th, which resulted in him being fined $50,000 by the league for repeated offenses.

Before the game Knicks head coach Mike Woodson spoke on JR's shoelace stealthy shoelace tactics and stated, "I've never seen it done in an NBA game, put it that way, in all the years I've been around."

NBA writer for ESPN, Brian Windhorst posted a tweet estimating how much he believes JR has been fined by the NBA over the course of his career.  Check out the shoelace videos and tweet above.
