Fabolous recently shared with Sway Calloway that listening to Drake's lyrics inspired him to connect with his grandmother.
"I heard they just moved my grandmother to a nursing home," Drake raps on the personal track from 2010's Thank Me Later. "And I be actin' like I don't know how to work a phone / But hit redial and you'll see that I just called / Some chick I met at the mall that I barely know at all."
"[That] hit me so hard," Fabolous said in the sit down with Sway's Universe, "because I looked at it and said, 'Damn, when was the last time I called my grandmoms, man?' It just hit me. I had to stop the song and call my grandma. Rap used to do that for people. It used to make you live in what is going on. I told him that was my favorite shit he ever said. That touched me."
Fab continued, saying "Sometimes I need something that's gonna push me in a different direction, like 'Yo, that guy said something that touched me'... Drake is one of those guys who's from this generation, but he can rap. No matter what you say about the kid, he can rap."
