Trinidad James has stirred up some drama within the Hip-Hop community when he made statements claiming that Atlanta and the South in general runs New York music.  During his visit with Atlanta-based radio station Streetz 94.5, he clarified that he was specifically talking about the type of music and artists that New York radio stations air.

"One of my best shows in the beginning of my career was in New York. So I would never be dissing New York ever. Because New York is what New York is. But what I was saying is from a New York standpoint it shouldn't take a cat like myself to have to let y'all know that y'all don't support your own people. I go off the radio."

He carried on with his interview with DJ Holiday and Stix Malone, and addressed any potential beef between him and Maino.  While James stated that Maino tweeted out some of his song lyrics as if everything was all good between them, he did state that "If it's a problem then he's going to kill me, right?  If it's a problem he's going to kill me, that's it.  Ain't nothing I got to talk about.  Kill me then."

James feels as though one problem with being a celebrity, or more specifically a celebrity artist, is that they are not allowed to have "barber shop conversations" about various topics like the rest of the world.  He stated that he'll be in New York in a few weeks.
