There appears to be some ongoing disagreements behind the scenes on the business end of Smack/URL. Battlers have been complaining about not being paid according to their worth, and how their is a lack of communication between Smack, Chico, Beasley and the talent which creates a lack of motivation to improve upon the brand as a whole.
Cortez posted up a blog addressing many of these issues and what he feels are potential remedies to the problems. He referenced his recent experience at KOTD's World Domination 4 and how organized everything was and how the management really put true care into the artists scheduled to battle on their platform. Cortez proposed having a sit-down conversation with Smack and his staff, and all of the battlers to remedy the problem.
Loaded Lux recently released a video titled, "Bout My Money" in which he addressed some of his personal issues with Smack/URL on the business end of things, so it is clear that there is some sort of rift dividing the the battler roster and Smack/URL from uniting to expand the brand.
