To many people around the world, Baauer's hit "Harlem Shake" song is the latest craze and everyone has been getting down with the new and extremely random 2013 version of the classic Harlem Shake dance.  However to many Harlem residents and natives, it is a complete and utter disgrace and is disrespectful to the original version that was so highly popular in the early 2000's.

During a recent interview with MTV2's "The Week In Jams", Just Blaze addressed the criticism the new dance song has been receiving, and explained that he doesn't see what the big fuss is all about.  In his eyes, the Harlem Shake is a dance that had its time in the spotlight and has now faded into the shadows, so people shouldn't take offense to the new song, especially since it was made over a year ago.

"It's no disrespect towards Harlem, but it's like times change, things evolve. This is the entertainment industry.  So it's not like the record was made to disrespect the original 'Harlem Shake.' It was a vocal sample from a record, chopped up, and made the title of the song. It's like people sometimes over think it. But when's the last time you saw anyone in the club doing it (the original)?"

How do you feel about Baauer's new version of the "Harlem Shake"?
