Welker is looking for a new contract and the Patriots like to keep things in house not out in the press so her apology is fake. She did it so her husband can get big bucks on the open market without teams thinking his wife is the new Doug Christies wife or Kurt Warners wife. Teams dont want extra distractions like this.
