For those of you who didn't know, the marching band that is in the background of the new raunchy video "Bandz A Make Her Dance", by Juicy J featuring Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz is actually comprised of students from the Miami Northwestern High School's band, the Marching Bulls. They were even wearing the school's "MNW" emblem in the video. Apparently, the school's leaders gave permission to allow the students to be filmed in the music video after a request was made by the producers of the video shoot.
However, the school board was unaware of what type of video the students would be featured in. They believed that the video was going to be age appropriate and nowhere near as explicit as the final product. The Marching Bulls were filmed in front of a blue screen by themselves back in August, but the edited version of the video shows women wearing skimpy clothes imitating strippers while Lil Wayne, Juicy J, and 2 Chainz moved to the beat around them.
Northwestern Principal Wallace Aristide released the following statement expressing his outrage at the misinformation that he and his staff were given about the nature of the video.
"It's just outrageous to think you have an individual take advantage of a school and students for a video. They're playing their instruments and thinking it's something innocent, wearing our uniforms, only later to find out they edited the video with racy content."
Lil Wayne's attorney Ronald Sweeney has come forward with a statement claiming that Wayne did not have any control over or participate in the production of the video aside from his cameo. He also wrote a letter to Sony's general counsel requesting that the students be removed from the video to avoid any further drama.
"Bandz A Make Her Dance" is currently number 9 on the Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
