Brooklyn Nets star point guard Deron Williams has major decisions to make this off season, but according to him he wants the free agent process to be a timely one and one that he decides on before the start of the Olympics.

USA basketball officials plan to have a 12-man roster set in June, but the NBA's free-agency signing period begins July 1. Training camp for the U.S. team begins July 6 in Las Vegas, and the team will begin training in England on July 17.
Deron has made clear his intention to opt out to become an unrestricted free agent, allowing him to test the free agent market. His hometown team the Dallas Mavericks has been rumored to be planning to make a run at the star but Williams has not ruled out returning to the Nets in their new home, the Barclays center in Brooklyn.
"It would be great to be a part of that first game, first team there, and start our own legacy in Brooklyn," Williams said. "So that's definitely enticing and something I think about on a regular basis."
Williams visited the team's new arena construction site on Tuesday with general manager Billy King, and Nets management are doing everything in their power to persuade the All-Star guard. Williams always reiterates that he does not want to be a part of a rebuilding phase and that winning is his top priority.
"That's first and foremost: I'm gonna go where I have the best chance to win," Williams said.
The Nets have solid pieces with center Brook Lopez and rookie guard Marshon Brooks, but if that will be enough to keep Williams is still unknown. The Nets were front runners to trade for Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, but that fell through when Howard abruptly decided to opt in his contract with the Magic.
