The 2012 Olympic Games will be held in London this summer, and to kick off the BBC Radio 1 Hackney Weekend, Jay-Z & Rihanna will be headlining the performance.

"There will be absolutely something for everyone: from Beethoven to Jay-Z, from Shakespeare to Mike Leigh", said Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt in a news conference.

The performances are set to go down about a month before the actual Olympic games begin, starting on the 23-24 of June, and the event is expected to draw audiences of up to 100,000.

Others taking the stage at the festival include Florence + the Machine, Jack White, David Guetta and Tinie Tempah.
