After his overzealous celebration of a highlight reel dunk on Serge Ibaka and Kevin Durant, Metta World Peace accidentally elbowed Oklahoma City Thunder's James Harden in the back of his head, causing Harden to suffer a concussion.

He claims it was accidental, and in video replays of the UFC worthy elbow, you can clearly see that World Peace wasn't looking at Harden when he threw the elbow, however, you can never know what Metta was really thinking when his elbow went flying.

Ron has since tweeted an apology to Harden and wishes that he will be OK.  World Peace stated that he didn't see him and he acknowledged that his celebration of the dunk was too much.

Regardless of that, World Peace has been hit hard with a seven game suspension!

Because of his track record for violent/aggressive behavior throughout his years in the NBA, his ruling was a severe one this time.  He will miss the last game of the regular season for the Lakers, and he will be forced to miss their first six playoff games.  If for some reason the Lakers get eliminated swiftly in the first round, then World Peace will be forced to have the remainder of his seven game suspension be served in the 20012-13 season.

On top of the seven game suspension, World Peace will not be paid until he returns to the court, and he will be losing an estimated $300-$350K for his time away.

Ouch.
