Multiple reports have come out recently that Dwight Howard reached out to the management of the Orlando Magic, and personally request that head coach Stan Van Gundy be fired.  Apparently, Dwight became angry after coach Van Gundy made Dwight's request a public issue, and now new reports have surfaced, claiming that Dwight has stated that he will not play during the playoffs unless Van Gundy gets the boot.

However, both reps for Howard and the Orlando Magic have stepped forward to discredit these reports. One of Howard's reps apparently contacted ESPN.com's Michael Wallace and stated, "It's a completely made-up, B.S. story."

Howard has already missed his sixth straight game due to back injuries, and it is uncertain at this point if he will be ready and willing to return for the playoffs at all.  Van Gundy has already stated that he is prepared for Howard not to participate in the playoffs.

Regardless if Howard truly did state that he won't play for the Magic during the playoffs or not, it's obvious that there is some serious tension bubbling up in the Magic locker room, and fans and general. NBA enthusiasts should be well prepared for a major change to occur with the Magic team in the near future.
