Casting for Acura Ad Requested Light Skinned Blacks Only

The producers of an Acura commercial might find themselves at the center of a racial controversy.
The casting call document for Jerry Seinfeld's Acura Super Bowl Ad describes a role for an "African-American Car Dealer", and specifically states that anyone auditioning for the part must be "nice looking, friendly. Not too dark. Will work with a MAJOR COMEDIAN."
The document was made public by an actor who was rejected because he was "too dark" for the part.
Is this just part of working in Hollywood?

How can you not be offended??? I am a light skin black man, and I'm offended!!! Can you say, "divide and conquer"??? The fucked thing about this whole situation is that I'm always hearing disrespect coming from dark and brown skin blacks!!!

Its not racist and I'm black..when you are marketing to the world..you want to have the most friendliest, nice looking people, not too dark types of people..the reality is that is what most people are comfortable with

Thats their preference they have the right to case what they are looking for you cant judge them for that. Yall dont think of green screens and the way colors look on tv they have a reason for it and its not racial it has to do with the commercial environments its advertising trust me

Only thing Im a little surprised about is that its on paper...but I guess this is common practice. We all have our preferences.
