It's been over a year since potential Hall-of-Famer Vladimir Guerrero has hit a baseball, but it would seem he's still hitting...people.

Guerrero was the subject of an all points arrest bulletin put out by police in his native Dominican Republic after a night out which ended in a melee, and a police major being assaulted.

The Dominican Today reported that South Region Police director Juan Ramon de la Cruz Martinez announced that Guerrero surrendered himself Tuesday morning in connection with a brawl at the disco El Punto, in the city of Bani Monday night.

The senior officer also said that he arrested two of Guerrero's bodyguards and that "No one is above the law."

The newspaper reported that "several community leaders and Guerrero's brother Wilton defended Guerrero's integrity, and denied that he assaulted an officer."

Guerrero told the Associated Press, "At no time did I attack anyone, nor was I fleeing," he said. ''I presented myself at the jail last night after the complaint from the disco, and this morning first thing I went to the police that are handling the case."

Guerrero, still a free-agent, hit 13 home runs with 63 RBIs and a .733 OPS over 145 for the Baltimore Orioles last year.
