Rihanna has openly expressed that Whitney Houston's musical inspirations have played a major role in the Barbadian beauty striving to become a singer in the first place. Since Rihanna recently dabbled in the birth of an acting career, rumors have sprouted that she might be offered the opportunity to play Whitney Houston in a biopic film for the late musical legend.

Rihanna has since expressed her utmost enthusiasm toward being given the chance to honor Whitney Houston, by embodying her idol on the big screen.  While in Japan promoting her upcoming, guaranteed blockbuster hit, Battleship, Rihanna spoke up about how badly she would love to play Whitney Houston in her biopic film.

Rihanna said:

"That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do, because I would really want to pull it off. That's a huge, huge role, and whoever does it has to do a good job.  My first song that I remember falling in love with was a Whitney Houston song: 'I Will Always Love You.'  It was really inspiring, and it made me develop a passion for music, so really, she's partly responsible for me being here in this industry."
