Big K.R.I.T. and Yelawolf have been two of hip hop's emerging stars in the past year or so and after both made the freshman cover of XXL Magazine, the two have teamed up and are planning on dropping a joint mixtape which will be titled Country Cousins.

During a recent sit down, Mississippi native Big K.R.I.T. spoke briefly on the endeavor.

"I definitely knew Yela before the Freshman cover. I had the opportunity to meet him at Tree Sound in Atlanta, and he's a down to Earth person, really just hungry and really just competitive about just the art of music. "It was just dope to really get to work with him. The first day I met him, we ended up doing a song called 'Happy Birthday Hip Hop,' and from there he's just been my country cousin and I'm excited to see what's been going on with his grind...Lord willing we can do this tape Country Cousins eventually."

Yelawolf was recently forced out of the SXSW performances due to an injury. Hopefully he's healthy enough for studio time.
