Russell Simmons tried numerous times to get in contact with singer Adrienne Bailon to discuss her thoughts about her wardrobe malfunction last night (March 1) for P. Diddy and Mariah Carey's concert at Gotham Hall in NYC.
Simmons reported that his first couple of attempts at contacting Adrienne over the phone were a fail. When she finally did answer, apparently the beautiful Ms. Bailon burst into tears almost instantly, as she began to explain herself.
"The wind blew and despite what other girls may do, this is really a terrible accident to me. I'm really upset, but I'm even more upset about what my parents might think. I want to be known for my talent. I love the idea of being sexy, but I've never been in this business to sell sex, I've been in this business to sell my talent. The truth is, when you look at the pictures, you don't realize that the wind really did blow my dress, and I don't really know what else to say about it."
Russell Simmons gave her some comforting advice to try and help lift her spirits.
"If you were my daughter I'd say who gives a damn, it's a mistake. Do the best you can and forget the results. If you have the best intentions, that's all that matters. You put on a sexy outfit, but the wind blew and you had no control. So now that it's done, nothing you can do it about it, except turn it into a branding exercise. Some girls do it on purpose, yours' was an honest mistake."
There is no question that Adrienne Bailon is a talented singer. With all of the stuff going on in the world she will probably be able to look back at this little incident and laugh about it. She will be ok.
She should just try and make sure any future outfit she wears doesn't have the potential to get removed by unseen forces.
