Luol Deng's "Africa-Awareness" Shirt May Get Him Fined

The most lucrative and successful sports franchises have a lot of rules. For better or worse they employ tons of restrictions to keep fans, players, crew and owners happy. Sometimes though, they do seem silly.

Luol Deng, who obviously had his heart in the right place, wore a T-shirt during the pre-game to the NBA All Star night honoring Africa and raising awareness on issues. Though, the NBA could fine him.

"If I get fined, I'm OK," he said to ESPN. "To me, what I did is worth it for me. I wouldn't do something that's negative. I'm not advertising anything. I just felt like being where I'm from and where I came from, it's something that I always wanted to see as a kid. I'm sure there's a kid out there, or a lot of kids, who really enjoyed it and made them happy to see that."

He sounds right to us, but the NBA can't let people advertise their causes all over the league. What do you think?

S Africa hasn`t been the same since the ending of Apartheid, those animals are killing and raping at a record level its disgusting . At least when Apartheid was still in effect these beasts were kept in check, they cannot be counted on to act like humans without bieng supervised or held to account. And its a lot like Hato no matter how many billions white people send these animals they cannot ever get thier shit together, don`t be mad its just true

I doubt the nba would fine him for this.. They wouldnt want that negative attention.. big ups to Deng though.. I thought it was unique and spoke strong words..

I think it's perfect he should go head and take the fine in addition to that other players should chip in and help him with it...africa stats getting shitted on and unnoticed...glad a professional player is stepping up..real talk!
