Despite the sudden loss of Heavy D, his surrounding community will honor him in style and love.
His legacy lives on in the documentary, Be Inspired: The Life of Heavy D, which premiers on the Centric channel on Sunday (February 26) at 11:00 PM EST. The hour-long informative celebration will feature interviews from many he affected in the industry including: Mary J. Blige, Queen Latifah, Will Smith, Brett Ratner, MC Lyte and others, according to marketwatch.com.
Besides including his final show on October 11, 2011, at the BET Hip Hop Awards, the documentary will be supplemented with classic artists and friends like Doug E. Fresh, Big Daddy Kane, and Kurtis Blow.
Heavy D died November 8th of last year from a pulmonary embolism.
