How far would you go to ensure that you don't have to complete your jury duty sentence?

Jacob Jock took his reluctance to serve to new levels, as he took to the web to get out of jury duty.  Jock was excused from court from having to serve as a juror back in December when news spread that he had befriended the defendant of a car accident case on Facebook.

Jock made a crucial mistake in his plan however, as he later went home and displayed his ill-advised arrogance in one of his status updates.

"Ha, ha, ha, I got out of jury duty", he posted.  This cocky statement landed him back in court this past Thursday, where the judge laid the hammer down on him.

"Freedom is not free.  It comes with responsibilities and duties, one of the most important of which is to serve as a juror when called.  You were called, and you thumbed your nose at it", were the words spoken by Judge Nancy Donnellan to Jock.

He was then convicted of Contempt of Court (misdemeanor charge) and sentenced to 3 days in jail, while having to pay court fees as well.
