Honoring the late, great J Dilla is, well, an honor in and of itself.

Last Friday, a particularly talented group of rap stars headed down to the Fillmore Detroit for Dilla Day, paying tribute to the man.

The group included Slum Village, Phat Kat, Guilty Simpson, Chuck Inglish, Amp Fiddler, Fat Ray, Asher Roth and Danny Brown. Yeah, it was that big. Jay Electronica and Busta Rhymes were expected for the concert but ultimately could not make the show.

"This night has been incredible – it means so much," said Ma Dukes. "Hip-hop is a thriving culture and for too long people in Michigan weren't noticing. We have everything right here and that's what we're gonna do with YMG and the foundation."

Awesome stuff.
