Bummer, Blake Griffin Won't Defend Dunk Contest Title

After being voted in as a starter for the NBA All-Star Game, Blake Griffin admitted he doesn't plan on defending his slam dunk contest title.
"As of right now I don't plan on being in it," Griffin said. "Those dunk contests aren't my thing, I said that last year. There's a lot of guys that can put on a great show and do some good stuff."
Last year the guy won the contest, played in the All-Star Game and balled in the Rookie Challenge.
"Last year was hectic and it kind of made it unenjoyable. So this year, we'll see what will happen, but I will try to tone it down a bit and get a break instead of being so busy," Griffin said.
Who's gonna take his spot?

Ps thought blake should have finished 3rd, dunking over the hood of a car is like jumping over a dude sitting in the chair, what 3 to 4 ft to clear, jumping over the roof would have been impressive, lebrons dunk over that cat the other night was more impressive then the car dunk

This nigga can dunk on niggas 5 times in a half but not enter the dunk contest? I guess i understand. He's a starter in the west and playing in the sophmore/freshman game. Plus the Clips gotta keep they spot in the west. Either way we'll still be watching

i mean.... all his dunks werent anything special.... the last dunk over the car.... Any nigga with hops coulda done that easy.... My man Derozan coulda done that, and he got booted early, and he clearly had the best dunk in the whole contest.... When they start removing props out the contest and start going back to the actual style of the dunk itself.... thats when more exciting shit will happen
