Russell Brand and Katy Perry have dodged rumors of their failed marriage for months now, but it seems that there's no denying that he filed for divorce Friday morning. Russell cited the all too familiar "irreconcilable differences" on the filed documents.
Russell proposed to Katy in India on New Year's Eve 2009, nearly two years ago to the day. The two were married on October 23, 2010 in the same place Russell proposed.
He released a statement, claiming "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends."
The two were obviously enduring problems in their marriage, as they spent the holidays apart and he was spotted not wearing his wedding ring. TMZ is also stating that Russell may have blindsided Katy with the divorce.
