The New Orleans Hornets agreed to trade Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers, and in one fell swoop Commissioner and New Orleans Hornets owner David Stern stepped in and vetoed the deal. Stern has the ability to veto a transaction on behalf of the league if he feels it would be damaging.

"The decision was taken that Chris Paul in New Orleans was more valuable than the trade that was being discussed. I don't want to speak on the basketball side, but that particular one was weighed against Chris Paul's continued presence in New Orleans."

However, when asked about other trades, Stern said, "I'll leave that to the team as the discussion goes on."

What do you make of Stern's decision?
