that's the problem, you are comparing albums from a different time period in hiphop. you have to compare to the music of now.
WTFWTF REPLIED   08/12/2011 12:40 pm
Every single artist gets compared 2 their earlier work period. That's how U can see if the artist grew and his fans with him or grew apart. Imho this album drifts away a lil production wise, too forced on the next level shit, rappin' wise same ol same ol......

Okay so Jay-Z built a brand over the years but what does this have 2 do with the album??!!! And it might be hotter than mostly what's out there but compared 2 both of their earlier work it's not a classic. They tried 2 force some special creative shit but still not everybody is pleased and if some people are not feeling the project and think it was forced ,then let them. They are entitled 2 their opinion/taste. Just cuz some don't feel it, it does not mean they are hating - it's a good album - of course but far from being the best or a classic!!!

idk what people are looking for but all bs aside i honestly like this album. How can people say garbage albums like lil wayne and gucci are hot but say this shit is lacking. This album is so much hotter than most rappers dropped in their entire career. Idk i'm in my late 20's i grew up on nas hov lox dmx wu tang ect...real fukin hiphop...these younger dudes grew up on weezy and soldire boy ect....so i assume you guys really have no understanding what good hiphop is but WTT is far from garbage.

1st of all - this album is not that great!! Ease up Jay-Z & Kanye stans but this album lived through the hype that Jay-Z & Kanye were doing an album 2gether but if U really listen 2 the album like Jenny Boom Boom said the album has "Kanye featuring Jay-Z" all written over it. Don't get me wrong. Jay-Z & Kanye fans will be satisfied but any other rap fan who is critical enough will tell U that this album is above average at it's best. The production is not up to par if U consider what Kanye did on his 1st 2 albums and Jay-Z is definitely past his prime when listening 2 his lyrics. The album was more hype, it's a good album but definitely not a classic one!
