
Eight-term Iowa Congressmen Leonard Boswell helped fight off an armed man who barged into his farmhouse in Lamoni, Iowa.
Boswell was spending the weekend on his farm with his wife, daughter, and grandson. Around 10:45pm, an unidentified armed man entered the house and assaulted Boswell's daughter while demanding money. Hearing the commotion, the Congressman came to the door and attempted to disarm the intruder.
As the two fought, Boswell's grandson grabbed a shotgun from a nearby room and confronted the intruder, who then fled into the surrounding field. No one was seriously injured.
the Sheriff's Office and FBI are investigating the attack.
