NBA Lockout is Official

It's official as of Thursday June 30th, NBA players are locked out. Union chief Billy Hunter said owners locked out the players after failing to reach a new collective bargaining agreement. This lockout could potentially jeopardize next season. The players and owners spent most of Thursday morning and afternoon trying to come to an agreement but failed to do so.

Union executive committee member Matt Bonner said. "We tried to avoid the lockout; unfortunately, we couldn't reach a deal." According to CBS News, NBA league business is officially on hold including the free agency period.  The last lockout reduced the 1998-99 season to just a 50-game schedule, the only time the NBA missed games for a work stoppage.

No Football, No Basketball, what's going on in the world?

The sides remained far apart on just about every major issue, from salaries to the salary cap, revenues to revenue sharing.
