Starting out as an actor on the teen soap opera "Degrassi:The Next Generation," Drake took everyone by surprise when he announced that he wanted to release a rap album. He had a hard time with music industry professionals taking him seriously until the powerhouse also known as Lil Wayne got behind him after hearing his mixtapes. He topped the charts with hits like "Best I Ever Had" and "Every Girl" topping the Billboard charts at number 3 and 10, respectively. With mentors like Lil Wayne, Birdman, and the rest of the Cash Money crew, Drake took every opportunity that was given to him with open arms. Known for his smooth voice paired with his well thought out lyrics, Drake has taken the nation by storm with his debut Thank Me Later.
