Turk was discovered in Magnolia projects by Birdman and his brother Slim back in 1996. The brothers saw potential in the young spitter and gave him a cameo on Juvenile's Solja Rags where he made his debut. He went on to help form "Hot Boys," releasing chart topping hits like "I Need a Hot Girl" and "We on Fire." Turk continued to collaborate with Cash Money artists like Juvenile's 400 Degreez and Lil Wayne's The Block is Hot. Turk released his debut album Young and Thuggin in 1999, which showcased the young emcee's lyrical talents and went certified Gold. Young and Thuggin would be the only record released with Cash Money, as he left the label in 2004.
