30) Monie Love

Coming from across the pond in London, Monie Love proved to be a successful artist in the U.S. as a protege of Queen Latifah. Being one of the first Brittish hip hop artists to be signed to a major label, Monie got her start in the U.S. by jumping on tracks with De La Soul and Queen Latifah, landing her a deal with Warner Bros. Records. She released her debut album Down to Earth to mass critical claim and 2 Grammy nominations for her singles "Monie in the Middle" and "It's a Shame (My Sister)." She continued to succeed with Prince produced single "Born To B.R.E.E.D,"  leading her to work alongside The Purple One on his side project, Carmen Electra's self titled album.
