After the internet went nuts thinking MTV execs banned Kanye West's music video for "Monster" in response to feminist outrage, MTV released a statement saying this is not at all the case.
Although 5,000 signatures from angry citizens voiced their opposition to the video which is claimed to "show women only as sexual objects and [to show] that violence against women as art is acceptable," MTV has merely requested their own edits to the video.
A spokesperson for MTV said: "MTV has not banned Kanye West’s ‘Monster’ video. We have been in constant communication with the label regarding this matter."
The video, in its artistic appeal, looked fine to me. Were y'all offended or is this a classic case of people hating on Yeezy?
