Dozens of artists backed Jay Z's Tidal upon its launch last month, but Chance the Rapper isn't convinced that the streaming service will be any different from its competitors.

The Chicago spoke at a Harvard lecture and told the audience that while he's impressed with the idea of Tidal giving back to the artists, Chance still believes that the streaming service model is "wack."

"So the Tidal formula is awesome if it actually works out. It's a direct fan-to-artist or fan-to-supplier type of connection, but it's not really working that way yet. Everybody that was on the stage was like signed to a label and sh*t. At the end of the day, all these streaming services are whack as f*ck."

Jay's new company has been heavily scrutinized since its launch, especially after replacing its CEO a couple of weeks after the service went public. The "Big Pimpin" rapper took to Twitter to defend his new music service and stating that Tidal is "more than just music."
