Atom Factory co-president J. Erving began managing Nelly last year, and according to him, the St. Louis native is switching up genres with his upcoming project. With no new music since his 2013 album "M.O.," Nelly's latest collective will reportedly be a country album entitled "Heartland."

"He's a FREE agent on the label side now, and is working on a country-based EP, which should be really interesting," Erving tells Billboard. "He may be one of the first hip-hop artists to jump into that space in an authentic way with Florida Georgia Line and Tim McGraw, so we think he has an opportunity to grow that base even more."

Nelly is no stranger to the genre, with tracks like "Walk Away" and "Over and Over" that he collaborated on with Florida Georgia Line and Tim McGraw, respectively. Are you going to give "Heartland" a listen? Let us know below.
