Hip-Hop legend Ice Cube recently spoke with XXL about the upcoming N.W.A. biopic, 'Straight Outta Compton,' which is slated for an August 14th release.

The creative savant, who has proven himself both in the booth and on the big screen, believes the film's underlining universal theme will compel an assortment of people.

"It's an American story of not only rags to riches, but David vs. Goliath," says the "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted" lyricist.

The veteran MC then adds, "To me, when you talk about N.W.A, you talk about non-violent protests against things that we were trying to comprehend, so we ended up putting it in song. There should be a movie about us."

During the interview, Cube also asserted that while making the film, which the 45-year-old actor has been working on for the better part of a decade, Eazy-E's influence has been a constant.

"Working on the movie, it's like we've been engulfed in Eazy-E for the last seven years. So, it seems like he's right here still."

Will you be hitting the theaters come August 14th?
