Olivia Bennett, 26, was arrested after hitting Canadian tourist Alex Sanghwan, 22, in Miami and then fleeing the scene. Sanghwan was in the city for the Ultra Music Festival and was hailing a taxi near King of Diamonds, where Bennett is a dancer, when he was hit.
NBC News reports that Sanghwan suffered lacerations all over his body, along with a shattered leg, shoulder, and serious head injury that led to him being put in a medically induced coma. Witnesses told police that Bennett didn't stop driving after she hit the man, and according to reports, the dancer dumped her damaged car at a Tootsie's Cabaret.
She turned herself in at the law office of Gerald Tobin, but Bennett couldn't prove that she had a valid driver's license. She was released from jail on $12,500 bond, while Sanghwan remains in critical condition.
