A$AP Rocky kept it 100 in a recent interview with MTV where he not only admitted to being hurt over his break-up with supermodel Chanel Iman, but claimed he was actually depressed when they parted ways.

Rocky spoke highly of Iman in the interview, saying he left because he knew he wasn't prepared and mature enough to be the man she deserves, and would rather leave than stay and put her through unnecessary drama.

"I got really depressed [when] me and Chanel broke up in June. I got really depressed because I knew that she deserves better than me. That's the truth and everybody knows it. And I don't wanna be the guy to Lauryn Hill her, if you know what I'm saying. I love her so much  that I would rather [fall back] than to be with her and hurt her. I don't want to hurt her. Not that I'm saying she's some piece of meat that I could just play with. Nah. I'm just saying, just to be mature about things in life — I do know where I am in life — I'm still having fun and I'm young and I need to focus on my career. I still have love her. She's still in my life. It's a win/win situation."

Yes, Rocky and Chanel are still good friends. In fact, he calls her his "best friend."

"[Chanel's] my best friend, man. For real. Because you have to be mature to be in this kind of predicament and have a relationship. I never really talk about these kinds of things, her and I, like that. And she never really talks about me, so I'm really not gonna say much on the subject but, she's happy, and that's all I want. I want her to be happy."

The Harlem spitter also spoke on claims that Chanel is the one who turned him into a "Fashion Killa." He respectfully dismisses the idea, saying he had style long before Chanel was in his world.

"2011, I couldn't make it to the MET Ball [because] I was on tour in Europe. Second time I was suppose to make it to the MET Ball and perform with Kanye West [but] I was on tour with Rihanna. Last year, I finally came to the MET Ball with Chanel. So, as far as fashion [and Chanel putting me on] that's false. That's my religion...[Chanel] is a very classy woman, but I was born jiggy. Ask her! But she's like, really elegant and her whole style is classy. I would call her aesthetic "ballroom gowns." Like, that's her. She kills that. That's what I wanted. She looks like a big ass princess and I appreciate her beauty. She's one of the most beautiful women I've ever laid my eyes on."
