Despite being sentenced to nine years in prison for rape, Darren Sharper is still eligible to be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. According to TMZ, there are no rules barring former players from getting inducted into the Hall of Fame if they're convicted of a crime.

Joe Horrigan, Executive V.P. of the Selection Process, told the website that the only requirements are that the player made at least one All-Pro team and has also been out of the league for five years. He adds that it's possible that some of the voters may take Sharper's convictions into consideration when he's eligible to be inducted in 2016, despite it being against rules.
