Snoop Dogg has conquered the rap game and has even had some memorable big screen moments in films like Baby Boy and Training Day. It seems that now Uncle Snoop is set to tackle scripted television, as he'll be developing an HBO series based in 1980s Los Angeles.

The Doggfather made the announcement at SXSW last Friday, saying the show will tell the story of an inner-city family living in LA as Reagan-era social policies (Reaganomics) and legislation began to take effect and change the dynamic of the city (and other urban areas around the country), mostly for the worse.

He revealed that he'll be collaborating on the project with filmmaker Allen Hughes who directed both Menace II Society and Dead Presidents. Writer Rodney Barnes will also be involved in the project, with some of his previous writing credits including The Boondocks and Everybody Hates Chris.
